January is Toxic 70s Month at the PorPor Books Blog !

Here at the PorPor Books Blog I occasionally take a respite from reading and reviewing sf content to focus on something else.

For January 2017, I thought I would turn to a subject near and dear to the hearts of many Baby Boomers who came of age in the 70s: Toxic Disasters.

chemical structure of dioxin

There were plenty of these throughout the 70s, both in the USA and abroad. Some of them I was aware of, while others are new to me.

The books for which I will be posting reviews all are fascinating........if disturbing.

child with chloracne, Seveso

Travel back in time to the days when birds dropped from the sky.....cows gave birth to mutants.......and people became Contaminated with chemicals that are with us still.....!

Dear tarbandu,

my name is Philipp Kramer and I am a doctor from Germany. Currently, I am working on an article with the topic "The Seveso disaster". I would like to use the picture with the dead livestock I found on your blog The PorPor Books Blog: SF and Fantasy Books 1968 - 1988. "January is Toxic 70s Month". Therefore I need to ask you for the copyright or otherwise to tell me whom to contact for that?

Thanks for your help!

Yours sincerely

P. Kramer

Dr Kramer, I got that photograph from a Google Search. As far as I am aware, the photograph is not watermarked nor copyrighted, and is in the 'Public Domain'.

Since I used it in my blog post, I have not received any communications from any individual or company telling me it is copyrighted and asking me to remove it from my website.

I hope this helps.........good luck with your book on the Seveso disaster,

tarbandu
